R&D Collaborations
Bridging the gap between industry and academia is a win-win for Synoptix and for emerging talent.
It's also an ongoing goal of the UK government and heavily aligns with our strategic goal of further developing of our core offering, which in turn supports and drives innovation in industry.
R&D collaborations with numerous academic institutions introduce us to fresh ideas and helps expand our portfolio and service offering. At the same time, academic institutions benefit from our expertise in systems thinking, and in Systems Engineering best practice, along with key insights into industry.
Recent successes
Our latest technology partnerships include work with Leicester University in a Knowledge Transfer Partnership. Together we created the Optimus prototype AI Object Detection System at a Network Rail level crossing, which has enhanced the safety of the UK’s level crossings.
We’re currently developing AI, Cyber Security, Machine Learning and Vision Learning technologies with a number of industry and educational partners who have complementary platforms and expertise. These key relationships are helping us develop solutions to complex issues for national infrastructure and supporting the UK’s efforts towards carbon neutrality.
We were delighted that this industry-academic partnership enabled rapid development of ideas leading to genuinely impactful results
