Synoptix were embedded in a weapons engineering team at a major prime contract in a Security Programme Lead role. Initially this was to achieve UK MoD Security Accreditation for the weapon system as it went into service on UK maritime platforms.    

Our approach

As Security Programme Lead, we worked with and supported our customer, and the engineering, project and InfoSec stakeholders, to ensure delivery milestones were met. Our lead engineer facilitated security working groups, plus intermediary meetings and discussions with the UK security authority.

Benefits

Our lead engineer was able to provide a robust process under the MoD guidance document JSP 440 to ensure the external authority had full confidence in the project’s security governance, procedures and processes. The system accreditation was achieved in September 2018, and re-accreditation achieved in 2020 and 2022. The current validity runs to September 2025.
