Synoptix AIL is a neural network IP protection service which provides businesses and enterprises the ability to protect the valuable IP embodied by their proprietary neural networks.
We insert or alter neurons in an existing digital neural network, and these can prevent a functional duplicate being created by disabling and/or degrade functionality of the whole network.
Developed in partnership with experts at King’s College London, our world-leading watermarking technology underpins the Synoptix AIL service, ensuring that this offering is unique in its ability to protect the IP that is integral to your neural networks. See video and further details below.
Watermarking proves provenance and ownership
Our patent pending methodology involves inserting or altering a neuron or neurons in an existing digital neural network. This action is undetectable in the performance of the system, its presence is only known by the system owner, and – crucially – it is very resistant to retraining. The existence of this inserted/altered neuron(s) enables the owner to effectively watermark and later to definitively identify their digital IP.
Functionality locking to disable non-authenticated users
Our technology creates a dependency on a “trigger” embedded into the input that enables the system to function as expected. If the trigger is removed, the performance of the network is crippled – locking the functionality of the network and meaning that the user is unable to effectively use the network.
The key aspect of this is that when the trigger is present, the neural network performance is not degraded by the presence of the trigger – meaning that authenticated users are able to utilise the network as normal.
